I had a bad feeling about it recently and I am sad that actually happened.
Yesterday we got a message from his sister, stating that our friend frost got sick and then died in hospital. It’d be rude to ask his relatives about the cause, but we’re assuming it’s COVID-19.
As of his projects, he was at Tsugu Tsugumomo. Since we’re not sharing scripts among ourselves before the actual release, his progress is lost. I don’t think any of us is interested in this title, so it’s unlikely someone is going to pick it up.
Rest in peace, Vitalik. We wish you farewell in your journey to eternity.

I’m a Beatrice-Raws member for just 3 years, so I don’t know Frost as good as the rest of the team. But still, those news shocked me. It was very painful to learn that Frost is no longer with us.
Personally, I remember Frost as a friendly person it was interesting and pleasant to communicate with. To tell you the truth, what we discussed the most were anime, encodes, and cats. Oh, Frost was very fond of cats! I was told that he almost declared a war on Jensen for the right to encode “Nekopara”. Like Frost, I really love cats and I have always admired how he’s been devoting himself to them. He often picked up stray cats, treated them and searched for new owners, or kept them at home. He was a real man, who has never turned a blind eye to our smaller brothers. This alone is enough for me to respect him.
I will miss you, Frost. 😭 Rest in peace, friend!

When that day will come, I hope you will make a video tutorial about anime encoding, it will be great if you could pass the torch to new generation of encoders before you go on full retirement.

You make it sound like it’s a secret that only the members of Beatrice know, lol.
There are many good encoding guides on the net and there are also people you can ask. But this is much more difficult than just using the handbrake, etc. Many are stopped by the fact that it is impossible to learn coding in a couple of months, most of the currently active encoders have been working with video for several years and are well versed in this. Also, is why there are very few good new encoders.
Nah, I’m not saying that it’s a secret that only you know 😀, what I mean is that every group has it’s own method of encoding, I had never discovored a good tutorial on youtube so I tought maybe someday you could show the process, and how you mostly use tools/programs during the encoding process.
It is impossible. Practice only. Take our text consultation in our chats (Discord, for example). And experiment. We are using VapourSynth and plugins for it for filtration. And DJATOM’s mod of x256 for encode. And… start experimenting! ))

Is there any info on Vasil-raws? That dude never ever seeds his releases, so I was wondering about the quality of his releases, since I never was able to download anything from him.
I assume you’re asking about Suka-Raws (his name is Vasil). Afaik his u2 account were banned for ghost-leeching, so he just lost an access to the source materials. I haven’t spoke to him from that time (May, 22). His telegram status is hidden, so I can’t read the last visit.
As for quality, as he stated, there’s no source-specific treatment, just some unified filtering to make stuff fast. So in my point of view, his releases are inferior to 2015+ encodes of our group.
He mostly was using this name『スカーRaws』 and the majority of his releases were always inactive with zero seeds.

As DJATOM and Jensen wrote, Beatrice-Raws is still working. I seed all completed Frost’s releases. All of 86 releases.
P.S.: I seed all completed BR-releases (excluding 720p reencodes) — 545 releases for now.
Nobody cares for 720p, anyway.
